Our client is one of the UK’s foremost specialist motor finance providers, with a successful proven track record of over 20 years. They continue to innovate and invest strongly in our their IT to ensure they can stay ahead in a competitive market space.

They are seeking to recruit a Head of IT Operations due to a restructure/reform of the IT Department.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of IT Support, Helpdesk, and the personnel of the IT team, reporting to the IT Operations Director. This role will be based in Grimsby. Working closely with and under the direction of the Director of IT Operations, the role will include, but not be limited to:

• Manage multiple programs, projects, and functions, including planning, coordinating, administering, and evaluating programs, projects, processes, procedures, systems, standards, and service offerings.

• Recommend, plan, and deliver new IT initiatives through collaboration with members of the IT Department and other departments to drive business efficiency and create new digital capabilities to improve end-to-end business processes and customer experience.

• Lead, and be accountable for all local IT service delivery. In addition, evaluate how future and current systems can best be optimised.

• Lead and Manage multi-IT disciplines teams – Business Applications such as customer portals, APIs, in-house CRMs and Helpdesk.

• Manage assigned budget and assist with the annual budget development process. Prepare cost estimates and budget recommendations—monitor and control expenditures to the business and strategic objective.

• Assist in planning and developing short and long-term goals—coordinate operational and program efforts in alignment with goals and objectives related to assigned areas of responsibility.

• Working closely with Senior IT Members to support and align established governance, standards, process and policies within the supported area under internal and external standards and legislation.

Key responsibilities for this role will be:

• Primary liaison between AFL operations and IT teams to deliver stable IT services, project execution and resource planning

• Maintaining communication with department customers (both internal & external) in resolving issues, notifying service outages and changing deliveries in support of the IT systems.

• Assisting with reported Incidents, including the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of software in keeping with established IT standards and guidelines.

• Testing and deployment of authorised software and managed services in keeping with IT standards.

• The ideal candidate for this role will have had previous experience in a similar position, preferably finance background demonstrating the following competencies:

• Experience in the design and architecture of IT Systems ensuring optimum performance and security.

• Strong Project Management and communication.

• Knowledge about general infrastructure capabilities including Network, Server Operation, IT services including HelpDesk and Desktop support, and information security to prevent threats and vulnerabilities

• Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of IT services.

• Great at organising, prioritising and multitasking.
