Humber Recruitment are resourcing for a General Operative/Labourer on behalf of our client in Barrow-Upon-Humber.

Hours: 8:30 am – 4.30 pm – Monday – Friday

Job Type – Full Time – Temporary with a view to permanent

Primary Role

The primary role of this position is to keep the area around the baler clean and tidy, loading crates of waste into Dolav pallet boxes for the driver to empty. This role would be temporary with a view to to permanent opportunity with future progression.

Other roles would include:

• General manual handling of items on-site
• Cleaning (sweeping plastic waste)
• Helping with general labouring activities carried out by other employees

Person Requirements

• Able to lift crates of varying weights to hip height
• Able to sweep for extended periods
• A good understanding and application of English communication
• Able to operate in a hazardous and loud environment.
• Able to follow instructions as set out in the Client’s health and safety regulations
• Arrange own transport to attend work
• Holder of Forklift licence

Experience:

• Load & unload: 1 year (required)
• Materials handling: 1 year (preferred)
• Warehouse experience: 1 year (required)
• Forklift: 1 year (required)

Desirable but not required

• Previously worked in a waste/recycling environment
• Hold a valid J4 Telehandler
