Electricians Mate

Humber Recruitment are currently resourcing an Electrician’s Mate for a client of ours working on a project in Teesside on a 4-to-6-week contract.

Location – Teesside

Contract – Temporary – 4 to 6 weeks

Hours – 40 per week (additional hours may be available / required)

Working Time – Monday to Friday between the hours of 07:30 and 17:00, subject to confirmation

Pay – £20 to £25 per hour subcontract, depending on experience

Job Profile – The following outlines the full spectrum of the role’s requirements.

The ideal candidate will be people-focused and working towards completing their electrical apprenticeship else an electrician’s mate.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Industrial electrical installation and project works,
• Aiding qualified electricians with the installation of electrical installations within an industrial and commercial setting,
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively under supervision.
• Prepare work sites, for example, by setting up ladders and safety barriers.
• Follow technical drawings, diagrams, and instructions accurately.
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring all tools and materials are stored correctly.
• Always adhere strictly to health and safety regulations during tasks.
• Attend training sessions to enhance technical knowledge and practical skills.
• For electrical apprentices’ progression through the apprenticeship scheme to becoming a qualified electrician,

Requirements:

• A full, clean UK driver’s license and own transport.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems gained through education or previous experience.
• Proficiency with hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers, etc.
• Familiarity with power tools used in electrical work, such as drills, saws, or testers.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail when following technical instructions.
• Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
