Humber Recruitment are resourcing a Senior Account Manager for a brand-new client of ours based in Grimsby on a full-time basis with hybrid working available.

 

The Role

A highly experienced account manager who leads on key client accounts and mentors junior team members. You’re commercially sharp, strategically minded, and trusted to handle complex client situations independently.

You set the standard for client service quality across the team. You’re not just keeping clients happy — you’re owning their digital roadmap, spotting risks before they surface, and identifying growth opportunities that genuinely move the needle.

What You’ll Be Doing

Client Relationships and Account Strategy

  • Own and grow high-value or strategically important accounts, with clear targets for revenue, margin, retention, and satisfaction
  • Lead the digital roadmap for larger or multi-channel accounts — aligning SEO, PPC, CRO, UX, dev, and ecommerce into a joined-up plan
  • Lead QBRs and senior stakeholder sessions that focus on trends, insight, and business impact — not just reporting
  • Translate complex, multi-source data (analytics, search data, CRO insights, platform stats) into simple, actionable recommendations
  • Spot risks early — performance, relationship, commercial — and lead the plan to stabilise accounts before they become problems

Commercial Leadership

  • Own revenue, margin, and retention targets for your account portfolio, with clear plans to hit them
  • Identify and frame growth opportunities that genuinely move the needle for clients — not just additional scope for its own sake
  • Play a key role in shaping how the client packages, prices, and positions their services for complex or multi-channel work
  • Lead strategic conversations with prospects as part of new business pitches
  • Apply the rate card independently for standard work; escalate for discounting or non-standard commercial models

Cross-Channel Knowledge

  • Advise confidently across multiple channels — SEO, PPC, CRO, UX, development, and ecommerce — knowing when to bring in deep specialists
  • Translate technical solutions from dev and marketing teams into clear, client-friendly language
  • Write solid scopes, proposals, and change requests that make complex digital work easy to understand

Mentoring and Team Contribution

  • Mentor junior account managers informally — sharing how you handle difficult clients, commercial conversations, and growth strategies
  • Act as the person junior AMs come to when they’re stuck
  • Model the standard for how the client run meetings, handles tough conversations, and responds to problems
  • Champion client feedback internally and help us improve based on what you’re hearing

What We’re Looking For

Experience

  • Proven experience owning a portfolio of key client accounts independently in a digital agency or similar environment
  • Track record of managing senior stakeholder relationships, including leading QBRs and handling commercial conversations
  • Experience working across multiple digital channels — web, marketing, or e-commerce — and advising clients on strategy across them
  • Evidence of spotting and converting genuine growth opportunities within an existing client base

Skills

  • Commercially sharp — understands margins, revenue targets, and the difference between growth that’s good for the client and growth that’s just more billing
  • Strong strategic thinking — able to connect digital activity to client business objectives and challenge briefs that don’t serve those goals
  • Able to translate complex technical and data-driven work into simple, clear recommendations for non-technical clients
  • Confident scope and proposal writer — able to make complex work feel simple and well-structured
  • Clear, honest communicator with clients and colleagues alike
