Catering Assistant

Humber Recruitment are pleased to be resourcing a Catering Assistant for a client of ours based in Grimsby on a temporary basis.

We are looking for a reliable, friendly and hardworking individual who enjoys working with customers and can support the smooth day-to-day running of the catering service.

Pay Rates

• Standard rate: £12.71 per hour
• Weekend rate: £14.62 per hour

Hours of Work

• Flexible contracts available: 30 or 37.5 hours per week
• Working 4–5 shifts per week, Monday to Sunday
• Shift patterns will vary and may include:
  • 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
  • 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
  • 10:00 am – 6:00 pm
• Weekend shifts: 9:30 am – 6:00 pm

Key Responsibilities

• Providing friendly and efficient customer service
• Serving food and assisting customers with their requirements
• Handling cash and processing customer payments accurately
• Preparing fresh salads and sandwiches
• Preparing and serving cakes and desserts
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene
• Carrying out general cleaning duties within the kitchen and catering areas
• Ensuring work areas, equipment and service areas are kept clean, tidy and organised
• Following all food safety, hygiene and health and safety procedures

Essential Requirements

• Must hold a valid Food Hygiene Certificate
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• A flexible approach to working hours, including weekends
• A reliable, positive and professional attitude

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, organised and committed to providing a high standard of customer service. They will be comfortable working in a busy catering environment, supporting food preparation and ensuring that customers receive a welcoming and efficient service.
