Humber Recruitment are resourcing a Commercial Conveyancing Fee Earner for our client based in Skegness.
Job Title: Associate – Commercial Conveyancing
Salary: £30,000.00 – £50,000.00 depending upon experience
Reporting to: Head of Department and HR Director
Hours of work: Full-time position Monday to Friday (inclusive) 9.00am – 5.00pm with one hour for lunch
Location: Skegness, Lincolnshire – Hybrid option after satisfactory probationary period

Criteria to apply for the Role
Essential Criteria for the Role:
Applicants must demonstrate on their application that they meet the following criteria, failing which their application will be rejected:
- You will have a minimum of 2 years of recent PQE or equivalent experience in handling your own commercial conveyancing files from start to finish
- You will require minimum day-to-day supervision in dealing with commercial conveyancing matters from start to finish in the following areas:
2.1 – Commercial Sales and Purchases
2.2 – Commercial Leases and Extensions
2.3 – Declaration of Trusts and Loan Agreements
2.4 – Deed of Covenants
2.5 – License to Assign, Underlet and Alter
2.6 – Commercial Lending
2.7 – Transfers - Whilst the focus of this role is for the candidate to undertake commercial conveyancing cases, you may be required to assist the residential conveyancing team with casework. Your CV should therefore demonstrate that you have a minimum of x 2 years’ experience of handling your own residential conveyancing cases from start to finish.
Desirable Criteria for Role
Experience in the following is desirable but not essential:
- Leasehold Enfranchisement
- Small Business Acquisitions
- Unregistered Land
- Knowledge of Share-Holder Agreements and Company Law
The Role
The successful candidate will undertake fee-earning work in the commercial conveyancing department. You will work closely with the Head of Department to ensure the successful development of the department in line with the company’s business plan.
As part of your role, you will:
- Manage a full caseload of commercial conveyancing matters and be able to progress the cases from start to finish with minimal day-to-day supervision, demonstrating judgment and independent decision-making;
- Perform fee-earning work accurately, reliably and in accordance with the firm’s quality risk management procedures, ensuring that you manage client expectations throughout
- Ensure proper control of work in progress, billing and recovery of fees
- Have strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines
- Have excellent communication skills, with a client-focused approach to your work
- Be proficient in legal research and drafting, with the ability to pay attention to detail and maintain the accuracy of work
- Assist the Head of Department with the management of junior team members
- Keep up to date with changes and developments in the area of law and ensure compliance with CPD requirements
