Commercial Lawyer

Humber Recruitment are pleased to be resourcing a Commercial Lawyer for a new client of ours to be based in the Humber Region (Grimsby/Scunthorpe/Hull/Goole).

The Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Lawyer with at least 2 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) to join our client’s dynamic legal team in the Humber region. This is a fantastic opportunity for a lawyer with a passion for commercial law and a desire to work on a variety of business-focused matters. You will work closely with clients across different industries, providing strategic legal advice on a range of commercial agreements and disputes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including supply agreements, distribution agreements, licensing agreements, and service contracts
• Provide clear and concise legal advice to clients on a wide range of commercial issues, including intellectual property, data protection, and regulatory compliance
• Assist in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other business transactions, ensuring clients’ interests are protected
• Work with senior colleagues on complex and high-value commercial transactions, offering advice on structure, risk, and commercial terms
• Conduct due diligence on corporate transactions and assist clients in navigating the complexities of business law
• Advise clients on the legal and regulatory implications of their business operations, with a focus on risk management and compliance
• Develop strong, long-term relationships with clients by offering practical and solution-oriented legal advice
• Contribute to business development and marketing activities to promote the firm’s commercial legal services

Skills & Experience Required:

• Qualified Solicitor (2+ years PQE) with experience in commercial law
• Experience drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts
• A strong understanding of business law and a keen interest in commercial issues
• Good knowledge of the regulatory landscape affecting businesses
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and drafting skills
• The ability to manage a busy caseload and work independently, while also collaborating with other team members
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to understand clients’ business needs

Desirable:

• Experience working with clients in sectors such as manufacturing, retail, or tech
• Familiarity with corporate law matters, including mergers and acquisitions, is a plus
