Humber Recruitment are looking for an experienced Construction/Project Engineer for Allied Protek to work on a contract based in Essex with an immediate start.

 

Role Purpose
The Construction / Project Engineer is a site-based role responsible for the day-to-day execution of piping installation projects. The role acts as the key technical and coordination interface between the client, the piping supervisor, and the project management team, ensuring work is delivered safely, to specification, to programme, and within agreed change control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily execution of piping installation activities on site in accordance with drawings, specifications, method statements, and the project schedule
  • Act as the primary site interface with the client for construction queries, technical clarifications, and daily coordination
  • Liaise closely with the Piping Supervisor to plan, sequence, and monitor installation works, resolving technical and constructability issues in real time
  • Coordinate permits, inspections, and workfront readiness to maintain productivity and minimise downtime
  • Track progress against the construction programme, reporting status, constraints, and recovery actions to the Project Manager
  • Identify, assess, and support the management of variations and changes, providing technical input and impact assessments (time and cost) to the Project Manager
  • Ensure works comply with relevant codes, standards, QA/QC requirements, and site safety rules
  • Support walkdowns, punch-list close-out, pressure testing, and mechanical completion activities
  • Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, red-line mark-ups, and installation documentation

Reporting & Interfaces

  • Reports directly to the Project Manager for programme performance, change control, and project status
  • Works day-to-day with the Piping Supervisor to deliver site activities
  • Interfaces regularly with the Client, QA, and other contractors as required
