Humber Recruitment is resourcing a Document Controller for our new client based in Grimsby to start as soon as possible.

 

The Role:

The Document Controller will be tasked to prepare and manage all business documents, drawings & O&M manuals. The candidate will work closely with the Client’s office and design team to ensure that all documentation is gathered, managed, filed & distributed in line with company procedures.

Day-to-day requirements and duties:

  • Creating document templates.
  • Converting information from project teams into user-friendly documents.
  • Numbering and labelling documents for identification and references.
  • Scanning, copying, and distributing documents to project team members and clients.
  • To assist Project and Design Managers with document control.
  • Tracking documents and making revisions for accuracy.
  • Liaising with project team members to ensure documents meet project requirements.
  • Be able to keep the highest levels of confidentiality. Non-disclosure forms will be required to be signed.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively within required timescales.

Experience and knowledge requirements:

  • Good standard of literacy and numeracy.
  • IT literate and a good understanding of software systems including Microsoft Office suite.
  • Worked within a business with an understanding of company structure, procedures and business systems.
  • Good communication skills, telephone manners and email etiquette.
  • A problem-solving approach to tasks given.
  • Be proactive in revising systems of work to be more efficient.

The Document Controller needs to be someone who has a proactive attitude, and a desire to achieve, with the highest attention to detail. The role is busy, diverse and fast-paced so you will need to be highly organised. Targets will need to be met; good time management is essential.
