Humber Recruitment are resourcing a Freight Forwarding Assistant for our client based in Immingham.

Job Title – Freight Forwarding Assistant

Based – Immingham

Salary – £ 25,000 – £ 30,000 subject to experience

Start Date – ASAP

Reporting to – Freight Forwarding Manager

Job Role – To oversee the smooth running of our forwarding activities on behalf of the client. This will potentially include quoting through to invoicing and everything in between. The ideal candidate should be:

• Conversant in Import and Export Customs formalities both in the UK and abroad, inclusive of customs entries both import and export.
• An understanding of Destin8 would be an advantage.
• Have a good understanding for the various shipping lines serving the Iberian, Italian, Benelux and Chinese markets.
• Have a good understanding of what is required as a Freight Forwarder and how we can stand out against the competition.
• Be an effective negotiator for the various parts of the logistics chain, especially towards rate negotiations with shipping lines and hauliers.
• Be able to work on their own or within a group/team environment.
• Be proactive in problem-solving with an ability to think outside the box.
• Be able to communicate at all levels.
• Have a good understanding of Excel and Microsoft Word.
• Be able to develop best-in-class operational and service levels towards our customers.
