Hatchery Operative

Humber Recruitment are sourcing a Hatchery Operative for one of our newest clients based in Ludford.

Job Summary

To assist the hatchery management team in the day-to-day running of the hatchery facility.  To ensure the welfare of day-old chicks whilst maintaining the high standards of quality, hygiene, animal welfare and health and safety that are required.

Hours

3am to 11am – Monday to Friday. Ideal for early risers who enjoy finishing their working day before lunchtime. This shift offers a great work–life balance, giving you afternoons free for personal time, family commitments, or hobbies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop a full understanding of poultry at the client’s site
• Assist with daily production needs, in particular chick production
• Hygiene monitoring
• Undertake various tasks within the hatchery; chick take off and chick grading
• General cleaning and tidiness of all areas inside and outside the hatchery to ensure our high standards of biosecurity are adhered to at all times
• Adhere to all codes of practice and bird welfare
• Adhere to health and safety standards at all times
• Undertake any other duties within the hatchery operation as and when required
• Be responsible for own training and development to keep up to date with industry standards
