Humber Recruitment are resourcing a Payroll and Benefits Manager for a client of ours based in Grimsby.
Job Purpose:
To manage and oversee all aspects of the payroll function and employee benefits administration, ensuring accurate and timely payment of salaries and compliance with relevant legislation. This role is key in supporting the HR and Finance functions and ensuring a positive employee experience in relation to pay and benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for UK employees, including monthly payroll runs, bonuses, overtime, pensions, and statutory payments.
- Ensure accurate calculation and reporting of PAYE, NI, and other statutory deductions in compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Administer company benefit schemes, such as pensions, private medical insurance, life assurance, and salary sacrifice schemes.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all payroll and benefits queries, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
- Liaise with HMRC, pension providers, benefits suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of RTI returns and P11Ds, and assist with year-end payroll procedures.
- Maintain accurate employee records in the HR and payroll systems, ensuring GDPR compliance.
- Monitor and implement changes to payroll legislation and best practices.
- Lead on process improvements, system upgrades, and payroll-related projects.
- Provide regular reports and analysis to senior management as required.
Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in payroll management and benefits administration.
- Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, tax, and pension regulations.
- Experience with payroll systems.
- Excellent attention to detail, numeracy, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Discretion and ability to handle sensitive employee data.
- Ideally, CIPP qualified or working towards.
