Humber Recruitment are resourcing a Process Engineer for Allied Protek, a leading provider of engineering services and solutions across the UK from their HQ in Grimsby.
Allied Protek are a leading manufacturer of high-quality bespoke design solutions for various industries such as chemical, food, pharma, defence, and energy. They are looking for a Process Engineer to join their team and help us increase our process engineering capability.
The Role:
As a Process Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Designing, developing, and optimizing new and existing processes and equipment from concept until handover
- Managing and developing the layout and throughput of new plants (FEED)
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues and ensuring compliance with standards and regulations
- Conducting experiments, tests, and analyses to evaluate process performance and identify areas for improvement
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support product development and innovation
- Preparing and presenting technical reports and documentation
Responsibilities:
- Advise Project Managers of all technical risks inherent in a plant design and assist in the evaluation of these risks through to successful conclusion
- Preparing process documentation and operating instructions
- Assessing industrial processes and taking measurements and data
- Previous working experience as a Process Engineer for 3 years
- Performing process engineering calculations and developing technical reports
- Managing process engineering PHA (HAZOP) action items and other Risk Assessments as required (e.g., PSA)
- Co-ordinating Management of Change safety reviews and accurately documenting process engineering changes
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, preferably in chemical, mechanical, or industrial engineering
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in process engineering or related field
- Strong knowledge of process engineering principles, methods, and tools
- Proficient in using software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar
- A working knowledge of process safety related regulations and methodologies. Prior experience with DSEAR / Hazardous area classification or related would be an advantage
- Excellent communication, critical and logical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
- A proactive, creative, and analytical mindset
- Have or willing to achieve SC Security Clearance
Preferable
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency in various software such as Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent spatial reasoning and ability to view data in two or three-dimensions
- Ability to work calmly in emergency and high-pressure situations
- Ability to lead, manage and persuade others to change work practices
- In-depth understanding of process engineering software and systems
- Familiarity with highly regulated environments (COMAH) and HSE safety measures
