SHEQ Advisor

Humber Recruitment are resourcing a part-time SHEQ Advisor for one of our valued clients in Hull.

Our client requires a part-time SHEQ Advisor to support their existing team and facility, based on-site in Hull.

We are looking for an experienced ‘hands-on’ Safety, Health, Environment & Quality Advisor with a ‘can-do’ attitude. This is a fast-paced role in a growing business, requiring someone with a proactive mindset, flexible approach and an attention to detail. The successful candidate must be highly organised, reliable, and possess excellent communication & interpersonal skills.

Duties to include:

• Managing and maintaining the various reporting systems
• Compiling statistics for reports and presentations
• Completion of customer accreditation documentation
• Developing and writing internal health and safety procedures/documents, including safe operating procedures, toolbox talks, safety alerts and one-point lessons
• Be an active member of the team and be prepared to chair meetings when necessary
• Investigating/recording accidents of injury, near misses, environmental and cases of ill health
• Carrying out safety inductions and monitoring safety critical training requirements, advising and training staff on best work practices
• Monitoring environmental impacts, objectives & targets
• Conduct audits (ISO, internal site, customer site, operator)
• Supporting the implementation of the appropriate safe systems or work
• Liaising with relevant authorities where required
• Suggesting improvements to current working processes, driving continual improvements
• Lead external audits for the relevant locations

Person Specification

Essential

• Experience in a SHEQ-related role
• NEBOSH / equivalent qualification
• Well organised and able to manage own workload
• Excellent PC skills
• Experience with SHEQ reporting systems
• RCA / incident investigation

 Desirable

• Auditing of ISO45001, ISO14001 & ISO9001
• IOSH Member
• Environmental qualification
