Pipe Fitters

Humber Recruitment are resourcing two Pipe Fitters for a client of ours in Burton upon Trent on a temporary contract.

The ideal candidates will have a strong background in pipefitting and mechanical installation with the ability to work effectively with various materials and tools. This role requires mechanical knowledge and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. As a Pipefitter, you will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems across various projects.

Duties

• Install, assemble, and maintain piping systems for water, gas, and other fluids
• Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine specifications and layouts
• Use hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and join pipes
• Perform welding and soldering tasks as required for pipe connections
• Conduct regular inspections of piping systems to identify any leaks or malfunctions
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
• Collaborate with other tradespeople to ensure project completion on time
• Adhere to safety regulations and best practices while on-site

Skills

• Proficient in welding techniques and able to build strong pipe connections
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively
• Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations related to pipe fitting
• Experience using power tools such as drills, saws, and grinders
• Skilled in using hand tools, including wrenches, pliers, and cutters
• Ability to assemble piping systems according to specifications
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
