Humber Recruitment are resourcing a Finance Assistant on a temporary basis for a new client of ours based in Grimsby with an immediate start date.
Contract Type: Temporary – Short-term
Start Date: Immediate
Salary/Rate: £12.84 per hour
Hours: 36.25 hour per week – Mon to Fri
Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance professional to join our client’s team on a temporary basis with an immediate start date. This role will support the finance function during a busy period, assisting with day-to-day financial operations, reporting, and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, organised, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable processes
- Process invoices, expenses, and payments accurately and on time
- Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Assist in preparing financial reports and analysis
- Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders
- Support audits and compliance activities as required
- Provide general administrative support to the finance team
Key Requirements
- Previous experience in a finance or accounting role
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Good understanding of basic accounting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and finance systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Sage, or similar)
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Immediately available or on short notice (preferred)
Desirable Skills
- Studying towards or qualified in AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent
- Experience working in a fast-paced or high-volume finance environment
