Marine Maintenance & Project Lead

Humber Recruitment are resourcing a Marine Maintenance & Project Lead for a brand new client of ours based in Grimsby on a full-time basis.

Our client has been designing, supplying and installing pontoons, marinas and moorings since 1992, serving both leisure and commercial sectors.

They deliver a mix of standard systems and bespoke engineered solutions, alongside inspection, maintenance and long-term asset management services for clients including the Ministry of Defence and the offshore energy sector.

The client’s work is split across the UK and international markets, primarily within Europe.

They are looking for an experienced electrical/mechanical/civil engineer, or an experienced technician ready to take on greater responsibility, to join their team in a lead role delivering maintenance and projects at their Grimsby site for their client, Ørsted Wind Power.

This position combines technical delivery, project coordination and client interface, with full responsibility for the day-to-day planning and execution of works. You will act as the primary point of contact on site, supported remotely by the client’s wider team.

The role includes both hands-on delivery of minor works and managing specialist sub-contractors delivering scopes of work.  Work will include the associated planning, reporting and contract administration required to successfully deliver the client’s requirements. This role offers a high level of autonomy and ownership.

Are you the right person for the job?

• 2–5+ years of engineering or trade/construction experience
• Strong electrical, civil or mechanical background
• Experience planning and coordinating maintenance or project works
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
• Confident communicator, able to liaise with clients and stakeholders
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Experience with RAMS, site safety processes and reporting
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel (including occasional travel to Barrow)

BPSS Security clearance will be required.

Desirable:

• Experience working in marine, offshore or industrial environments
• Formal project coordination or management experience
• Relevant engineering qualification
• NEBOSH / IOSH or similar

What will your role look like?

• Take responsibility for the planning and delivery of maintenance works on site
• Act as the primary point of contact for site activities and client coordination
• Organise and manage subcontractors, resources and site operations
• Prepare and review RAMS, ensuring works are delivered safely and efficiently
• Monitor progress, track completion and manage reporting requirements
• Identify and resolve technical issues as they arise
• Prepare quotations, scopes of work and supporting documentation for additional work
• Work closely with the wider Intermarine team, with regular communication and support
• Attend other sites (including Barrow) as required to support operations and collaboration
