Humber Recruitment is actively recruiting a Business Development Lead for our esteemed client, a leading provider of engineering services and solutions across the UK, who seeks to expand its Runcorn-based team.

Reporting to – Capital Projects Director
Travel required – Throughout UK and oversees on occasion
Responsible for staff – No
Required qualifications, experience and education – 3 to 5 years of sales or marketing experience with a mechanical engineering background

Principle responsibilities:

  • To prospect for new clients by networking, cold calling, advertising or other means of generating interest from potential clients
  • To plan persuasive approaches and pitches to convince potential clients to do business with the company
  • To grow and retain existing accounts by presenting new solutions and services to clients

Main duties:

  • Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business
  • Cold call as appropriate to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities
  • Research and build relationships with new clients
  • Set up meetings between client decision-makers and the company’s practice leaders/Principals
  • Present new products and services and enhance existing relationships
  • Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs
  • Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs.
  • Present to and consult with mid and senior-level management on business trends to develop new services, products, and distribution channels
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

3 to 5 years of sales or marketing experience with a mechanical engineering background
