Humber Recruitment is actively resourcing an Instrument Engineer on behalf of Allied Protek, our esteemed client who are a leading provider of engineering services and solutions across the UK, who is actively seeking to expand its current team at its Grimsby base.

The Instrument Engineer will work with a small team of electrical engineers and designers delivering engineering solutions for a current large-scale project. This is an excellent opportunity for an Instrument Engineer looking to work in a dynamic environment focusing on innovation and technological advancement.

Job Overview:

The Instrument Engineer will work within a small team of Electrical engineers and designers delivering engineering solutions for a current large-scale project. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical advice and guidance on engineering activities that affect more than one department.

Duties:

  • Design and implement control systems including hardware design and software programming.
  • Develop and maintain instrumentation systems to monitor and control production processes.
  • Conduct testing and calibration of instrumentation devices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to instrumentation systems.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and professionals to ensure project success.

Requirements:

  • HNC or above in a relevant engineering discipline
  • COMPEX 12 Application Design Engineer certification would be preferred.
  • Previous experience in a similar Instrument & Systems Engineer type role, directly within the oil and gas industry, is preferred.
  • Design experience would be preferred.
  • Applicants should have experience with management of change processes and requirements.
  • Applicants will be expected to have experience in the use of standards (IEC61511 and BS EN60079) instrument and general engineering specifications & datasheets; design calculations (e.g., I.S. calculations) control systems design requirements; understanding of engineering diagrams (e.g., P&ID’s, loop diagrams, pneumatics drawings and termination drawings).
