Humber Recruitment is actively resourcing a Planner/Planning Engineer on behalf of our esteemed client, a leading provider of engineering services and solutions across the UK, who is actively seeking to expand its current team.

Reporting to – Project Delivery Manager

Principle Responsibilities

Working with Project Managers, Project Engineers and heads of department to coordinate and implement data from a host of media, which allows for one plan to be developed which ensures the business acts upon current information to deliver to internal and external targets.

  • Work within a multi-project, multi-discipline environment to produce fully resourced logically driven detailed project plans.
  • Work with the Project Manager and all relevant heads of departments to ensure the plan is effectively planned and monitored, this includes agreeing on the level of reporting and setting of project baselines.
  • Monitor and update progress to plan to identify critical path activities and potential project issues/overruns.
  • Produce resource demand outputs for each project and ensure cumulative resourcing schedules are maintained.
  • Provide “what if” scenario support to allow the levelling of resource demand within project constraints.
  • Application of Earned Value Management techniques to allow effective management of the project.
  • Identify, establish and maintain required programme measures e.g. deliverables, milestones, earned value.
  • Actively promote best practices and identify areas for improvement.

The Individual

 Will have at least 5-10 years experience of working in a multi-discipline multi-project planning environment.

  • In-depth working knowledge of planning practises.
  • Proficient in the use of planning software packages, MS Project is a minimum requirement, Primavera is also desired but not essential.
  • Competent in the use of Earned Value Management techniques including establishing EVM graphs & metrics.
  • Ability to work under own initiative both individually and as part of a team.
  • HNC in Engineering/Planning discipline desired but not essential
